Clarens
This was where the journey started for me. Clarens was an AMAZING experience! Full of laughter, happy tears and fellowship.
This was a time to make new friends, have adventures and to make amazing memories. We had a fun time of hiking, we saw a waterfall on the hike and I kept a pebble from the waterfall to remember that awesome experience. Everything on that trip was new, from the people to the place.
One of the most memorable moments in the trip was when we were having a session with Pastor Sharon. Meredith was plating some cords on the guitar and the Holy Spirit just came into our space and took over. Everyone started singing in the spirit it was beautiful. At the time I couldn’t speak in the spirit, but despite that I just enjoyed listening to everyone.
Ultra Weekend
The Ultra weekend was such an eventful trip. In the span of three days – Camping in two spots, racing and a triathlon.
We started the trip with a great time in the cars together. We arrived at our first destination and set up camp just before the sun had set. We then started up the braais and had time together to chat and to have dinner. It was an early night because some people were doing “Race to the Sun”. The next day was an early morning for the racers, while everyone else packed up camp so we could move camping spots when the race was over. We then joined the racers to cheer them on and support them. After lunch we went to camp to get the trailers and to start the journey to the next campsite.
When we arrived at the next spot the riders were still doing the race so the supporters had to set up camp for the riders. It was so worth it to have the riders come back and see them happy to have their tents up. The next morning was an early morning for everyone. Camp was packed away by 5:00am. We arrived at Sun City and the triathletes started to get geared up and ready to start their big race. First it was the swim, then the cycle and finally the run. The athletes were happy and motivated through out the whole event. While they were racing I was busy defending their race snacks from the monkeys. I had to chase one monkey along the change areas fence. At the end of it I only got a protein bar back.
Cullies 2 Dullies
My Experience at Cullies 2 Dullies
I honestly didn’t think I would be able to do the C2D trip. Matthew signed me up for 15km and 10km and on that day I cried. I hadn’t even done a 10km run before so the thought of having to do 15km and 10km really freaked me out, to be honest.
The day of the 15km went so well, I didn’t have pain (until the end) and my endurance helped me a lot but I had to lean on The Holy Spirit a lot during that run because the week before I was experiencing some symptoms in my heart and chest so I was just a bit weary. On the run, I ran further and longer than I thought I could, the only thing that challenged me was the uphills, that’s the main thing that drained me.
I really enjoyed C2D, got to build relationships with people, and had intentional moments with people too. I had to work the Fruit of the Spirit a lot too but in doing that the situations I was in went smoothly. I really enjoyed spending time with everyone and fellowshipping.
Cullies 2 Dullies as a whole
One of my favourite moments at C2D was the second day before the runners left the campsite of the first night. Louis, Caleb and I went to see what was around the place we were at. We found a little store that sold anything and everything ans it even had 2 arcade machines outside so we decied to try out shooting some hoops but the boys figured out where the sensor was and that was that. They just wung the ball past the sensor over and over again to get the points up. They reached 1000 points but the machine only had three spots for numbers so the numbering kind of got messed up but it was quite funny. After that we went and got breakfast and then it was time to head out to the next spot.
On the first day when I was going to run 15km, I was nervous and not too sure of myself with the run so while I was running I found moments where I could speak to the Lord and I was just asking Him to help me get through the run because I had never run past 10km before so I wasn’t sure if I would even be able to do the run. I was asking Him to also just make the run special for me, everytime I have asked the Lord to make something special for me He has shown me beauty in the nature around me, and on this run I was seeing paw prints next to me while running and then later on the views were just beautiful so I just really enjoyed having those moments with the Lord. I think if we go again my next goal would be to do 21km both days.
